Since America wouldn't have been founded without Christopher Columbus, he is despised by leftists. In their myopic view, North America would have been far better left to the Buffalo and cannibalism, slavery and rape of the Native Americans. Sowing the seeds of America, by re-discovering the Continent, and bringing civilization to the indigenous people: giving them more medicine, technology, education, opportunities, is an unforgivable crime that can never be forgiven. They would have been better off in mud huts or tents, and a life expectancy of 29 years old or so.
